| Sacred Shrine | | Author: Thomas Leriche | | System: d20 Dungeons and Dragons | | Category: Fantasy | | Type: Hook | | The Sacred Shrine is a D20 module created for the Open Gaming World campaign setting. This adventure is for four 2nd level player characters.
The adventure takes place around a shrine of Aqual, the elemental god of water. The shrine has been abandoned for several months due to the local of the village nearby believing that ghosts haunt the area. The local creek of Sunmore has also dried up. The townsfolk depend heavily on the creek for food and trade. It is up to the players to figure out why the shrine has become haunted and save the town of Four Winds. | | Views: (9632) | | Comments: (10) Rating: 5.4 | | 2005-11-07 22:24:20 |

It’s short and to the point, but as with a lot of things I critique, I think the ending could have been stronger. You’ve made it a little to easy on the PC’s at the end. The Challenge of the adventure is definitely up to par. I give it a 10. It was perfectly suited for my group of second level characters. NPC’s get an 8. Bragus should have some priest levels. I would personally give him 5 levels in Cleric. Tartanian you have listed as the leader of the town militia, yet he has 0 fighter levels while later in the adventure you state that he sends up to 3 town militiamen, fighter-1 to help the PC’s. I’d hope this was just an oversight. I give the layout a 9. It’s pretty clean and easy to read. I would have liked to see it two column in PDF though, (I just pasted it into word and made it double column, not that big of a deal). This just saves the amount of paper it takes to print it out. I also like the fact that you took the time to create some NPC’s for people to use. This is great for people that are new to rpg’s. All in all, I give it a 9. Can’t wait to see more stuff from you. Keep up the good work. |
posted by Tired Of Rip-Off's on 2005-12-08 15:27:05 | | This "short adventure" was part of a bigger commercial adventure released under the name "Shrine of the Sacred Ones" released by a now "out-of-business" company called "Adventure Games Unlimited", an early company of the D20 era. PLEASE, if you rip-off an idea or re-write an existing release, give credit where credit is due... I always check my ideas out with an official checklist before calling what I release into the public forum. (real name withheld to protect the company I write for) |

So your comments have no foundation. Any comparison to previously published works is purely coincidental. I just wanted to set the record straight. Brian V. thanks for your comments, i'm glad you enjoyed the short adventure and will take your comments to heart. |

posted by D20 Promotes Rip-Offs on 2006-11-11 08:49:37 | | I own "Shrine of the Sacred Ones" and even someone who has never played an rpg before could tell you did a direct rip-off. PLEASE people, stop doing this to the D20 gaming world... |
