A tiny bit more fleshing out would leave it well within the 'merely a spark' range while aiding it immensely, especially some kind of minor detail about the fourth dimensional beings. |

Could have been better if the designer spent the time to actually give the adventure hooks more detail. As far as the adult theme, I've played more adult sounding games at conventions ran by DM's younger than 16. |
posted by Dragom on 2004-05-01 12:23:55 | I admit that it does cry out for work. But I guess that's what DM's are for.
You didn't even mention tracking down and capturing the stud/s you'd need for the second adventure.
After all Celestial can and have bred with almost every creature...
Ick...
Anyway it could use a good bit of work. Like a full list of dieties and description of the philosopies behind them, And a comment on how one would summon a celestial animal in your game... I mean whats the point of a ready combatant if the caster and the creature need a quickie before it will agree to do anything? And city's, Major players and more importantly small players. (I've had so many king bob's)
But you have to do more! |

posted by Blade on 2004-05-14 13:50:25 | | THis is so perfect! i was in a serious bind my players took their campaign to a place where i had not, could not expect! the under dark..with a few tweeks of this very basic story line it will fit perfectly a thousand debts of gratitude i owe you! |
posted by Mandrax on 2004-05-20 06:54:44 | I agree with those who say that this needs more work, but the grade should reflect what has been presented. I like the concept (which for some reason reminds of the computer game, Thief - the Dark Project). I also like the way Alexander sparks lots of ideas with a few sentences. Who are the Estranged Brethren? :)
An interesting twist might be to have the party consist of "failed" heroes, instead of evil ones. Proud vengeful paladins, cowardly warriors, forgetful wizards and drunken priests. Once virtuous characters who somehow lost their way without knowing it. The aim of the quest could then be to find their old selves again and ultimately prevent the alchemist from ataining his goals. It would take good timing though, to make the characters go all the way. |
posted by Dave S. on 2004-05-21 18:35:16 | | Sooo right and my 2 stars is based on what is presented and what th writter is presenting is a poor incomplete product that with work by the author would have been a better submission and worth the time to downbload... but what is here is not quality 'nuff said |
posted by Xena on 2004-06-27 10:52:05 | | I am so tired of sex based adventures written by men who think us females enjoy such rpg - I guess if you are a porn freak or a pervert who enjoys role-playing monster sex, then by all means use it, but imho, this kind of porn trash doesn't belong on this site! |
posted by Vagabond Ace on 2004-11-30 20:45:46 | | Now to say this sucks would be a vague injustice. Sucks is a harsh word, and it seems the characters may do enough of that in the 'campaign'. But I have to agree, that this isn't even a spark. All you've doen is made up a few names for religions, given them one defining rite, and said the world is the corrupt and vile world we'd all essentially imagine if we tried. Slaving, fetishing, the works. The only truely creative parts are so half-assed that they provide nothing at all to go on. |
posted by looking for quality on 2005-03-12 06:04:41 | | i was looking for some decent quality stuff to help give me a boost to starting my own long-term campaign that my group has asked me to do, but with crap like this, I will look elsewhere for help. RPGArchive is not the place to find quality submissions. A friend of mine submitted something awhile back, then requested for it to be removed as he realized that it had errors and the asshole that runs this site just sent him a virus via his email as a response. I should have listened to my friend and stay away from this site all together |

posted by Magicman on 2005-12-29 05:43:41 | | I'm all for running a bad guy campaign. I like looting and indiscriminate killing as much as the next guy. However, Mr. Wallis presents an extremely vague and ultimately unsavory world for us to explore. I have no interest in being some creep's (Septimus, yech) toadie, nor do I find any of the adventure hooks to be the least bit intriguing. The first hook might as well read, "go and rape a nun". It's a sound idea to avoid overtly sexual themes, because the reality of actually playing out something like this is you're sitting around a kitchen table with four dudes who are eating chips and drinking pop, while you're talking about boffing an angel. That is a road better left untravelled. I elevated the rating to a two, because there is some poetry to the prose. |
posted by Van on 2006-06-11 21:02:23 | | As others have said, looks more like a quick brainstorm than any real idea. Needs lots of work. And running spellcheck ("civilization," "NPCs," etc.) wouldn't hurt either. |
posted by an imaginative DM on 2008-07-21 17:55:09 | | Most of you previous commenters are being stupid. the ideas in this campaign are obviously not for you. why should wallis need to write a massive campaign for the likes of you? he delivered what he promised, sparks which could be used by clever dm's to make a good campaign, you shouldn't rely on a dm like Alexander to do it for you. Grow an imagination and stop complaining!!!! |
