The Crawler in the Mists
Author: Darren White
System: AD&D 2nd Edition
Category: Fantasy
Type: Scenario
This adventure is set in an AD&D 2nd Edition campaign and introduces a new creature to the world. It is based in the desert and starts the PCs in a very compromising position. It is best used as a side-trek to get the PCs started in the desert. The module is based on a Conan The Barbarian comic book (#116) of the same name by Marvel Comics. Original writer Len Wein deserves much of the credit as the inspiration as I merely changed the ending to fit a more exciting AD&D finish.

Hmm, odd but colourful english ("The only welcome is a wall of silence that further feeds the dark fear that gnaws like added pain at the stranger in the corner"). The plot is completely linear, and and very very simple. I'm guessing that most of the dialogue comes directly from the comic.

Cool Concept (I am a big fan of Conan comics) but a little short even for a side-trek. The Demon Slug is a creature that should get so notice as I will use it in my campaign.

OMG! can this guy write anythign original or is he stuck in a world full of conan comics?!?!?!? I thought this was supposed to be for original works, not comic book re-writes...... Go out and buy a real commercial adventure and see what the real deal looks like!

I would have given it a better rate, but due to the lack of maps (which is obviously something that is a problem with all your adventures) I would never use your stuff. If you don't have any money to buy a decent map program, go to www.dungeoncrafter.com and d/l that one, it is a freebie and would enhance your stuff 100 times over.

For a small side-trek this really isn't that bad. The Demon Slug is an interesting opponent and well done statistically. He gives more credit than most others do when ripping someone off.

Good enough side quest / encounter. If you don't like it, don't play it !
