This scenario could use a clean rewrite. Some neat ideas and encounters, but hard to follow.

Not enough options to go by. It lacks the main part of AD&D which is the roll playing...

Whatta heck is this. This aint Ravenloft adventure. This might work in Forgotten Realms but definetly not in Ravenloft. Thump down.

The first thing that alerts any good DM that this is a poor Ravenloft adventure, is the very early instruction, "Monsters are random". No monster in Ravenloft is "random" Monsters in the dread realms are villians, not random thugs. Poor for Ravenloft-good for 10 year olds.

This is the shittiest Ravenloft adventure I ever read. Mega-monster-bashing without a serious plot to follow. Don't bother to download this.

There are too many problems with this adventure, whether it be done in second or third edition. First off, it doesn't give a recommended amount of players or their levels. Second, depending on the level of the party, some of the monsters in this adventure are of no challenge and therefore will actually give NO EXP. Third, as someone has already pointed out there is virtually little to no roleplay and very little suspense in this to make it true Ravenloft adventure on it's own. Forth, there is little story as to how or why the charries would be chosen (depending on level) and how and why a weretiger was captured? It does have some ok ideas and can go well if done with more dialogue and story, or if done perhaps mixed with another story in the same domain.

Several things wrong. "I need some hearty adventurers...etc..." That isn't Ravenloft style, that's high fantasy. "In the Ravenloft Domain of Borca?" Most people in Ravenloft don't use the word Domain to describe the kingdom/barony/county that they live in, and they don't know what Ravenloft is. "DM persuades the PCs with threats" That kind of heavy-handed bullying of the players, not the characters, shows a weak GM for what he or she is.

Not even close to Ravenloft, seems to be written by someone with only part of the original Black Box at hand.

Everyone's being too hard on the creator of this. It's not awesome, but it's not terrible either. It has some cheesiness, but it also has all the needed elements of a basic beginner adventure, maybe to help someone new to the game get the idea of it. When I started playing D&D almost 20 years ago, I played a lot of adventures like this, so ease up. There are a lot worse actually published...

Anyone remember Castle Caldwell? Now THAT was a suck-ass adventure.... published and for sale in the book stores. CRAP! This Ravenloft adventure is freaking perfect compared to that!
