In fact, this adventure reads almost like a short story - very engaging, vivid descriptions, memorable characters and is filled with all the emotion and drama you would expect from a good fantasy novel. Well done. |

With a set of maps (very sadly absent) and a nice artwork cover, this should be sold on shelves as the 1st or possibly 2nd (thinking of the gnomes where it starts) adventure in a series. And a GM can create his own maps easily enough - I made do with some very rough sketches. It's exceptionally well thought out, and in depth. It took a lot of work to convert to another game system (it's VERY heavily steeped in the AD&D-FR setting) and campaign - but it was well worth it! |

The format in which you chose to write it made reading through it a little more difficult. For example, you did not offset the text to be read to players in any way. Also, any self-respecting dwarf would note that nearly no dwarf speaks that way(to those of you who have read Salvatore's books, that one is an exception). The dialect would have been better suited to an elf, or maybe a well-educated and flourish human. I find immersion a difficult factor if everything is proper to us, but not the game world. The idea is to live the game, for the duration of the session, not be proper. This means reflection of dwarvish dialiect is a must. Again, overall it was good. There are a few other things that earn this scenario a "4", but this is long enough as it is. I think a revision would easily make this a "7" or "8", but many things are missing or outright wrong. |

Indeed I was a little unhappy with the lack of maps and the work it involves for me, but then, so much better do I now know my maps when the time comes, so it is good preparation and I can make some eman adjustments..What I wonder is: are the tasks for the group are not too easy at their level? Well, I guess this is more warmup and teambuilding and the real challange is in part two, and I would love to see that.
Guess I will not be lucky here, since this is eleven years old. ;-)
