Ruined Temple
Author: Unknown
System: AD&D 2nd Edition
Category: Fantasy
Type: Scenario
This campaign can take place ANYWHERE, as long as it's in a desert. Any world or plane will do. The campaign is a ruined temple that the PCs find, on their way back from some other campaign. It is meant to be for low-level characters, a good adventure with some really easy XP and treasure.

Cool scenario - my group loved it.

A nice idea for an adventure, but it needs to be scaled down in the amount of treasure! First-levels getting that much money and so many magical items in one shot? I think they should consider themselves lucky to come out with one of those staves, but with something like 2-3 charges left. I'll probably scale back the treasure considerably and add several more challenges (old, non-magical puzzles and maybe a few undead) and run it.

hmmm...I like the background story, which I might use as an inspiration. But I dont like the adventure itself at all. There is WAY to much treasure and the players don't have any options of what to do. When they finally have the opportunity to roleplay, a powerfull NPC takes over and the adventure ends. A source of inspiration but nothing more.

Lets see... the backstory is kind of cool, I guess, but this is quite the monty haul scenario! The PCs only have to actually fight one creature, the mage, and the rest art defeated by an uber-powerful NPC, who then gives them MORE treasure for not doing anything particularly difficult anyway.

For christ's sake, where is the action, man? Players don't like to sit back and let an NPC save their asses, and they also really like to feel they EARNED some of their treasure. Kudos for the backstory, but the rest blows.

As already stated the treasure in this adventure might amount to too much, for some. The storyline is ok. probably better if the amulet was used 9by one of the players) to battle away the hobs.

Might be used to let the priest player choose a new deity, with completely new spells off course.

Most everyone has already said the same thing I did. My only other complaint is that it wasn't written very clearly. Great idea, bad follow through. I'm working on re-writting this and releasing a 2e version for the purists out there and a conversion it to 3.5e for anyone else who wants it. I'll submit them here as they get done. Also, if anyone can find out who the original author is, let me know so I can credit him/her.
