| A Murder In Suburbia | | Author: Dominic A. Covey | | System: Call of Cthulhu | | Category: Horror | | Type: Scenario | | In this adventure, the investigators return home to their peaceful old hometown upon hearing news of a young relative’s horrible death. Taking part in the funeral, they soon discover a sinister presence among the town’s children, perhaps even the murderer of their young cousin. Discovering that the past can never be had again, they come to realize their town – and the once-innocent youth – are now decayed, degenerate, and a haven to sinister secrets. | | Views: (26117) | | Comments: (18) Rating: 9.6 | | 2000-02-10 18:22:13 |

posted by Chimera_101 on 2001-08-25 14:48:35 | | I just read this, and being a resonably experienced Keeper, I can tell how good it would be to play. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and think that it contains all the necessary elements to run a s**t scary game that is fun and unpredictable. I shall CERTAINLY be running this game in the near future and thank Dom Covey for this excellent piece of s**t-yourself-making material. |

Also, after the ghost story incident with the primary antagonist and resultant nightmare, the guessing game of "whodunit" is over, and it's just picking up the clues. The story seems to be less horrific and more sick and twisted at times. Very disturbing! Good job. |
posted by LJSLarsson on 2002-02-06 06:23:30 | | Let's just face it, Dominic is a wonderful horrorgame-writer that not only throws in some monsters and thinks it's scary. It's also very generic, and that's very pleasant for a gm who prefers GURPS Horror. |

posted by Dick Page on 2003-07-23 02:47:03 | | I read this adventure as an example of a possible game, as I am considering purchasing CoC. I'm sold. If this is how a great game goes, I must own CoC. So many well-thought out NPCs, such variety in approaches, so much assistance for a Keeper. It's > 90 pages long! Excellent work. |
posted by Silent_64 on 2003-12-01 13:10:26 | | This is a GREAT scenario I manged to scare my players, and they had a great time. They died in the end when they went a nuts in the Police station with a blut knife. |

posted by Ben on 2004-03-06 14:08:08 | | Very well thought out. Tweak the beginning for a more original intro and you've got a 10 on your hands. |
posted by Ben on 2004-03-23 10:52:26 | | I've taken this adventure, adapted it to D20, and expanded it to be an intro for a whole campaign. I have, what i believe, some really wicked ideas to turn this into a huge campaign. Drop me an email Dominic so i can let you know about it. I want your permission Dominic before I post my ideas mixed with yours as a campaign. |

posted by Jake on 2008-03-19 13:15:54 | | I was absolutely enthralled from beginning to end. So brilliantly crafted it could be transformed into a compelling novel. I am going to use the story as one of my games and I can only hope I do it justice. |
