At The World's End
Author: Dominic A. Covey
System: Call of Cthulhu
Category: Horror
Type: Scenario
This scenario takes place in the 1990s, in central Vermont. The setting is in the summertime, when the Green Mountain National Forest is crowded with campers and tourists - the investigators among them. Suddenly all manner of strange spider activity strikes the Green Mountains, resulting in several mysterious deaths and a standoff between ecologists and a newly-opened major hydroelectric dam in the Forest.

This is the second scenerio by Mr. Covey that I have used with my gaming group, and I once again have nothing but high praise. The story worked perfectly and if anything my players enjoyed it more than 'A Murder in Suburbia.' The only "negative" was that they were so scared of spiders by the end, I had a hard time getting them to actually go to the cave or dam. It was great. Thanks!

This was great adventure and highly convertable. I actually ran the adventure using Polyhedron's Shadow Chaser's and changed the local to south eastern Utah. My players enjoyed it greatly.

This was a ok adventure. It was a bit short, and could have been filled out with more around the tale. The investigators didn't understand why to go into the caves.. and neither did really I.. but Colleen got em down. It was too few options to choose from by the investigators too. At least it was well written. A little more work and this could be a great one. Sorry I hadn't the time to work with it before we played.

Liked 'A Murder in Suberbia' better, it seemed much more well-thought-out and built up better. This has some excellent ideas and conflicts, but the problem with it is that unless the GM is very careful, the players will figure out what's going on far too quickly. Remember, building up suspense and uncertainty is important and here there's perhaps a bit too many leads for the PCs to follow. I'd leave out information about the spider god myself and hit them with it as a big shocker of a climax.

Ran this scenario at small Con in 2009 and 2010, was a great success.
