Background:

Thorgar actually had no intention of adventuring at first. However, he did enjoy the way of arms and decided to become a soldier in the Dwarven military in (Large Dwarven City in your world). He trained extensively in the skills of disarming traps and unlocking doors and chests. He was on the dwarven elite force. He took down duregar cults and renegade drow daily. This, however began to wear on him. The military was pushing him harder and harder, into more dangerous missions, beacuse he succedded in any mission he was given. When they finaly asked him to infiltrate another dwarven city to gain intellegence on neighbors, he refused. He was dishonorably discharged, but most dwarves still remember all the good he did.Though, the dwarven military still wants him back, he has sworn off working for a government.

Thorgar's innate ability to detect traps goes beyond mere mechanical and magical traps. Years of training in detecting traps keep him on a constant lookout for anything out of the ordinary. Thorgar will spot ANY mechanical or magical trap on a 2+ on a d10. In addition, he will detect ambushes automaticaly in urban or underground settings. NOTE: the care that the ambushers take might not allow Thorgar to warn the other party members before attack, but thorgar will never be suprised in said settings.

Special Disadvantages:

Being trained in combat, trapfinding and lockpicking exclusivly, thorgar has no training in any other theif skills. This means he cannot move silently, hide in shadows, backstab, or read languages. However, he can advance detect noise and climb walls at half normal rate (2% spent = 1% gained)
