| Tower of Babel | | Author: Steve Kellams | | System: GURPS [filter] | | Category: Fantasy [filter] | | Type: Scenario [filter] | | On Dec 1, 1922, Lord Carnarvon discovered King Tut's tomb. Along with all the other marvels of the tomb, Carnarvon found a plaque made from an unknown metal. The plaque was unlike anything else in the tomb. It was 6' by 3', and 1' thick. It was covered with pictographs that were very different than the Egyptian hyrogliphics. In the center of the plaque there was a large hole, 6" in diameter. | | Views: (8167) [sort] | | Comments: (3) Rating: 3.7 [sort] | | 2000-02-28 09:45:56 [sort] |
| Sierra One | | Author: Steve Kellams | | System: GURPS [filter] | | Category: Science Fiction [filter] | | Type: Scenario [filter] | | In 1950 the U.S. began experimenting with cold fusion. The offshoot of the experiment resulted in further study of energy transmission and collection. A top secret underground instillation, code named Sierra One was established in what is now known as Red Lodge Montana. As the need for services grew in that area so did the population. The town of Red Lodge is a skiing resort located directly above Sierra One. In 1991 the project was terminated. All of Sierra One's computers were connected to the NSA, and telemetry was monitored from NORAD. 25 U.S. Army MP's were stationed as a guard unit for the closed base. Red Lodge Montana has a population of 45,000. | | Views: (5690) [sort] | | Comments: (2) Rating: 7.5 [sort] | | 2000-02-25 15:00:29 [sort] |
| The Face of God | | Author: Shannon Appel | | System: Call of Cthulhu [filter] | | Category: Horror [filter] | | Type: Hook [filter] | | A religious revival has struck a small town that lies far
away from the rest of human civilization. Many people there claim to
have seen the true face of God. Unfortunately, seeing the true face
of God seems to be a traumatic experience; everyone who has undergone
this ecstatic experience has emerged blind, some with their faces
terribly scarred.

He says that a special rod must be retrieved from the Silver Citadel in the Silverbrand Forest. This citadel was once used by the elves as a barrier against the onslaught of savage ogres in the distant past. Since the defeat of the ogres 30 years ago, the Silver Citadel is now used as a testing ground for elven mages. The knowledge of the Rod of Orcus has been forgotten and the elves do not know that the rod is hidden in the catacombs. | | Views: (4115) [sort] | | Comments: (1) Rating: 6.0 [sort] | | 2000-02-24 12:39:03 [sort] |
| Let Them Bleed | | Author: Branson Hagerty | | System: Shadowrun [filter] | | Category: Science Fiction [filter] | | Type: Scenario [filter] | | It's NeoHeroin with a kick and people are dying for it. Well, not dying exactly, but coming damn close. This particular concoction of Neo, called Bleed, makes it nearly impossible to actually overdose. Mixed in with its mostly chemical makeup is a harsh stimulant along with special conunteractants which actually reduce the drug's effect when the user comes close to death. The result is horrendous. | | Views: (6826) [sort] | | Comments: (3) Rating: 8.0 [sort] | | 2000-02-24 12:36:41 [sort] |
| The Tower Of Refuge | | Author: Alan Jones | | System: AD&D 2nd Edition [filter] | | Category: Fantasy [filter] | | Type: Scenario [filter] | | "About 200 years ago a large fire swept through the town of Narborel. The fire started in the Wizard's Guild, killed a number of towns folk and destroyed almost a quarter of the towns timber buildings before it was put out. For this reason the Town Council told the Wizard's Guild to leave and set up their guild house on the large island in Narborel Bay on the condition that they set up a light at the top of the tower to warn shipping of the rocks in the bay. The wizards felt they were unjustly and harshly treated so they named their new guild headquarters "The Tower Of Refuge". The then leader of the Guild, Lazilan, build the tower, walls and guest house using magic and stone brought in from the quarries around Mt. Barule." | | Views: (5908) [sort] | | Comments: (3) Rating: 7.0 [sort] | | 2000-02-23 11:20:07 [sort] |
