| Tunnel Run | | Author: Brett Hegr | | System: Beyond the Supernatural [filter] | | Category: Horror [filter] | | Type: Hook [filter] | | PCs are witness to a strange event - a man in rags is seen crawling into a manhole. It wouldn't be strange except for the fact that the man was skinny and spindly, yet could somehow lift a heavy manhole cover like the lid off a jar of pickles. Chasing the man is a waste of time. | | Views: (4527) [sort] | | Comments: (0) Rating: 0.0 [sort] | | 2000-03-29 01:28:59 [sort] |
| The Seven Deadly sins | | Author: Orri Eiríksson | | System: D&D Planescape [filter] | | Category: Fantasy [filter] | | Type: Hook [filter] | | Sometimes, the highest form of happiness can only be achieved by suffering. Insight comes at a price, as the darkness in a mans heart can be difficult to face.
There is a place in Amoria, the first layer of Elysium, where the confrontation is, arguably, made easier. For is it not easier to face a physical foe, than one in your own mind?

| Night of Terror | | Author: Steven Kudolis | | System: GURPS [filter] | | Category: Fantasy [filter] | | Type: Hook [filter] | | The adventuring group is helping to guard a caravan of travelers. A fortune teller is traveling in the caravan and offers to "read" one of the PCs future (this is the hook to lure the group to the next adventure). The fortune teller predicts death this night. A strange and sudden storm springs up and death and horror does indeed come to the caravan this night. Will the PCs survive? Will they unravel the mystery? Or will they soil their pants? | | Views: (4303) [sort] | | Comments: (3) Rating: 4.0 [sort] | | 2006-04-21 14:40:07 [sort] |
| Shades of the Blade | | Author: Daron Patton | | System: Star Frontiers [filter] | | Category: Science Fiction [filter] | | Type: Hook [filter] | | Koraffo stared at the Khad’dan buried deep in Ulkunk’s amorphous corpse. He
was the sole survivor now. Why hadn’t he simply refused to follow the human
female’s orders? Why didn’t matter any more. The Hir-Kal would be coming for
him next. Then it could rest again.
The Yazirian sighed then dropped his blaster belt and blaster to the deck.
Lasers would be no use against such a phantom. According to legend nothing
was. The hissing song of his Khad’dan being swiftly drawn from its sheathe
echoed down the silent passageway. If an ancient evil wanted his life, it
would have to pass through ancient steel to take it.

| The Face of God | | Author: Shannon Appel | | System: Call of Cthulhu [filter] | | Category: Horror [filter] | | Type: Hook [filter] | | A religious revival has struck a small town that lies far
away from the rest of human civilization. Many people there claim to
have seen the true face of God. Unfortunately, seeing the true face
of God seems to be a traumatic experience; everyone who has undergone
this ecstatic experience has emerged blind, some with their faces
terribly scarred.
