| Spirits Without | | Author: Strolen | | System: Generic [filter] | | Category: Fantasy [filter] | | Type: Hook [filter] | | The players unknowingly awaken an ancient army. Viewable by all, yet unseen by the players, people flee in fear of the marching army of spirits on the path to a major walled city. On arriving at the city the players cannot figure out why the gates are closed, the towers are manned and on the defensive - from them... | | Views: (7891) [sort] | | Comments: (6) Rating: 9.7 [sort] | | 2003-01-26 05:34:26 [sort] |
| Shades of the Blade | | Author: Daron Patton | | System: Star Frontiers [filter] | | Category: Science Fiction [filter] | | Type: Hook [filter] | | Koraffo stared at the Khad’dan buried deep in Ulkunk’s amorphous corpse. He
was the sole survivor now. Why hadn’t he simply refused to follow the human
female’s orders? Why didn’t matter any more. The Hir-Kal would be coming for
him next. Then it could rest again.
The Yazirian sighed then dropped his blaster belt and blaster to the deck.
Lasers would be no use against such a phantom. According to legend nothing
was. The hissing song of his Khad’dan being swiftly drawn from its sheathe
echoed down the silent passageway. If an ancient evil wanted his life, it
would have to pass through ancient steel to take it.

| When travelling near evil... | | Author: Orri Eiríksson | | System: D&D Planescape [filter] | | Category: Fantasy [filter] | | Type: Hook [filter] | | It is a well know fact among planewalking bloods that magic can and will fail sometimes when you are planewalking. In some places it happens a lot, in others it only happens in freak accidents. This adventure is a result of a plane shift / teleport spell or something similar that went awry. The pc´s use plane-traveling magic and arrive in the abyss.

| The Thing from Jakarta | | Author: Mervyn Boyd | | System: Call of Cthulhu [filter] | | Category: Horror [filter] | | Type: Hook [filter] | | Although the scenario can be played as a stand alone, it is probably best if it is added to an ongoing campaign as a side-track event. It's essentially a no-brainer, so specialised characters are not required. Although a loose time frame is used, it can be modified or ignored by the keeper to make for a more enjoyable half hour of play. For full effect it should ideally be played by one player, but no more than three. It s suited for the modern age, though it can be modified for the 1920s or 1890s. The setting is Newark, New Jersey although this can be changed to suit the individual keeper. | | Views: (4596) [sort] | | Comments: (3) Rating: 8.7 [sort] | | 2002-11-27 14:10:11 [sort] |
